Kirschen Drawknife -120mm (5 inch) with velour sheath

This Drawknife is a very nice tool. Made by Kirschen, who have been making quality tools in Germany since 1858.

A fundamental and ancient tool, the Drawknife was used by Viking shipwrights over a thousand years ago. For centuries they have been used by shipwrights and coach builders, carpenters and coopers, green woodworkers other timber tradespeople.

Smaller than the 250mm (10 inch) model that we also sell at The Joy of Wood, this smaller drawknife has a 120mm (5 inch) blade. It comes with a velour leather sheath to protect the blade edge. And also to protect your hands if you have it in a mixed tool box!

This model is also great for kids to use, with the work held in a shaving horse or in a vice on a bench.
