The Bush Whittler – Olive Handle

We are very excited in January 2024 to have received our second shipment of the knife we call our “Bush Whittler”. It is a robust knife we have had made for us. This particular knife comes with an Olive Handle.  All Bush Whittler knives come with a lovely leather sheath.

The blade’s outside shape is very similar to the famous Mora 106, though the grind is slightly different, making it a tougher edge for camping and general use in the bush. However, when you sit by the fire whittling that nice piece of wood you picked up during the day, the Bush Whittler knife is delightful for whittling and carving. The handle is very different from the Mora 106, it is longer and larger. This is an ideal whittling knife for people with larger hands or for those seeking a different look and feel.

Why did we call it “The Bush Whittler”? We love camping and hiking and being in the outdoors. We love whittling and carving. This knife offers lots as a valuable companion in the bush, on the walking trail, sitting by the fire with a cup of tea and a whittling project. It is just as useful in the workshop or studio. It also looks really great. What a fantastic gift for either an outdoorsy person or a whittling and carving enthusiast! The best of both worlds – The Joy of Wood’s Bush Whittler.

• The blade length is around 80mm, and 16mm at the base,
• The blade thickness at back edge is about 3.5mm at the thickest.
• The handle is about 130mm long, with a nice Brass collar.
• The handle is made from Olive wood and has a beautifully polished feel.
