This Penguin Family provides a great opportunity to learn and develop your whittling and carving skills. You can choose how much detail you give to the birds. You can add some colour to really bring them alive. the little chick is a tiny thing, so comes on a short stick to help hold it. You later cut the stick off, leaving your lovely little chick.

The wood these are made from is either Basswood or English Lime. Easy to carve, and quite plain, making the paint job very effective – with out the “busyness” of grain patterns to detract from your shaping and painting.
