Description
Have a go at whittling one of Australia’s more unusual marsupials – the numbat! You get a raw whittling blank to create a beautiful carving of this gorgeous yet endangered Australian marsupial. Numbats are the faunal emblem of Western Australia. In Aboriginal Noongar language (South West Western Australia) they are called noombats, pronounced noom’bat, and in the Pitjantjatjara dialect they are named walpurti. Your whittled numbat could be a great way to keep numbat conservation in conversation with your friends and family. What a great way to understand and support local conservation activities.
